Q&A: CHP Caliber on championing indies in the Northeast
Consultancy and distribution platform CHP Caliber was founded in 2025 by industry stalwart, Becca Florence Davis. Davis has extensive industry experience, including a five year stint at American brand Shinola.
She’s recently carved out a niche at CHP Caliber for championing independent watchmakers, including the likes of Hampden and Briston. Watch Insider’s Daniel Malins caught up with her to find out more about her expanding operation.

Watch Insider: What roads led to the formation of CHP Caliber?
Becca Florence Davis: Well, if you want to go way back, I actually moved to New York when I was 18, and I started my luxury goods journey working part-time slinging denim at Diesel. From there, I worked at various other different retail jobs (Mulberry, Stella McCartney), and I even worked at a fine jewelry store for a year and change. I got into watches when I worked for Shinola as their account executive for five years — by far my favorite gig. The watch addiction began, along with the strong relationships I began building with some of the best independent retailers in the Northeast...

Independent watch brands are gaining ground in US retail as CHP Caliber expands into five jewelry stores across New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Connecticut – including a landmark location inside the Pentagon.
The consulting firm, founded in 2025 by Becca Florence Davis, specializes in placing independent watch brands in traditional retail environments.
Its latest partners include Lumos Jewelers, located inside the Pentagon, and Clifton Jewelers in New Jersey, marking a significant step for the company as it builds a network of independent retailers across The States.

3 going on 30: CHP Caliber launches new retailers as expansion continues
The distributor has signed two new brands and made strides towards its larger goal of having 30 retails in the first half of 2026

CHP Caliber is closing out the year with impressive momentum for a start-up.
The young New York–based distributor, founded earlier this year, has confirmed a trio of new retail partners (Store 52, NAGI Jewelers, and Mills Jewelers) and the addition of two watch brands (Briston & Hampden) to its fast-growing portfolio.
This marks a significant step in CHP Caliber’s mission, positioning itself as a matchmaker between independent watchmakers and equally independent U.S. retailers.

New consultancy brand announces signing of three independent watch brands.

A fresh independent retailer initiative is breaking onto the scene, catapulting leading international brands and marking the debut of a new name in US watch distribution.
New watch consultancy brand, CHP Caliber, has officially launched.
Founded on the principal of small businesses supporting small businesses, CHP will be partnering with independent jewellers and speciality watch stores.
And boy has it started strong with its first three signings, bringing Delma, Tsar Bomba, and Exaequo under its umbrella.
